Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke, leading a crusade | The Best Prayer Against Poverty

Are you experiencing hard times because you have no job or because your job is not as lucrative as you have wished it to be? Are you finding life difficult because you cannot afford most of your needs?

If your answer is ‘yes,’ then, this article is for you. After reading it, your life will never be the same again in Jesus precious name. Amen.

The biggest problem facing millions of people in the world today is POVERTY. This explains why more than half of the world’s total population of over 7 billion people, is within the poverty bracket, despite the abundance of human and mineral resources that God deposited on the surface of the earth for us.

I am not here to tell you the causes of poverty because almost every reasonable adult knows them. Rather, I am here to share, with you, one little secret on how you can overcome poverty permanently.

Many authors have written articles and books on how to make money, earn a living and eventually overcome poverty. Others have organized and still organize seminars and workshops on the same subject of teaching other people how to make money, earn a living and ultimately become financially free.

Churches, on the other side, are not left out in the business of teaching people how to escape poverty. Apart from organizing programmes to teach their members financial intelligence, some pastors now preach prosperity on the pulpit. I have attended so many of such seminars, as well as listened to pastors who taught prosperity.

Despite all those seminars and teachings, poverty is still around with us. In short, poverty seems to growing at a very fearful and rapid progression.

Because of this poverty scourge, the commonest prayer you hear our people say today is: “God, give me money to start a business,” “God, give me money to marry,” “God, give me money to build my own house,” “God, give me money to buy a car,” “God, give me money to buy clothes and shoes,” “God, give me money to marry,” God, give me money to pay my rent,” “God, give me money to pay my children’s school fees,” God, give me money to travel,” and so on and so forth.

If God, gives you money to buy a car, for example, what happens after you must have bought the car? Won’t you like to buy another car? If He gives you money to build a house, won’t you like to build another house? If He gives you money to start a business, won’t you like to expand your business? And so on and so forth.

This ought not to be so! The question I expect you to ask me at this juncture is: What, then, is the best way to go about this? I am not a ‘professional’ pastor, yet I have a ready-made answer for you.

The best way to go about this is not for you to pester God, every time, with your ‘give me money,’ ‘give me money’ request.   It is for you to ask Him to show you how to make money by yourself, just as we say ‘teach me how to catch fish instead of giving me fish?’

For example, if God shows or blesses you with the power of prophecy and healing, so that you would be able to prophesy and heal other people according to your word, do you know how many people, including the rich and the poor, who would be coming to your house or your church for healing and prophecy, on a daily basis?

If that happens, do you know how financially comfortable you would become from the seeds which such visitors, on their own volition, might want to sow into your life?  When you have such divine and legitimate means of making money constantly, would think of bothering God about money again?  That’s the point!

THAT BEST PRAYER AGAINST POVERTY, therefore, is for you to ask God to bless you with a talent, show you which of your existing skills or knowledge, or which skill or knowledge that you need to acquire for the purpose of solving other people’s problems.  After He must have done that for you, other people will gladly appreciate or pay you for it.

Poor people and their environment

Do you know why this is the best prayer against poverty? Because solving other people’s problems and being paid for your service is the easiest and surest way to make money and become wealthy.

As long as people live, they would have problems; as long as they have problems, they would need a solution to their problems; and as long as you provide solutions to their problems, they would pay you for your service.  As simple as that!

If you look around where you live, where you school, where you worship or where you work, you’ll notice that the people who you admire for being rich or wealthy have one solution or the other, which they provide in exchange for other people’s problems and money.

For example, Alhaji Aliko Dangote produces and sells cement, flour and sugar.  People who need these products buy them from him, and he makes money from selling them.

Sunny Ojeagbase of Success Aptitude Development Centre, SADC, Isolo, Lagos, and the publisher of Success Digest magazine, has a deep and vast knowledge of the workings of the Internet, that is why many people, including yours sincerely, paid so much to attend his Internet marketing and other online-related courses.

Richard Mofe-Damijo, Genevieve Nnaji, John Okafor, a.k.a. ‘Ibu’, Ali Baba, Basket Mouth, AY, Helen Paul, among other actors, actresses, comedians and comediennes, have the gift of making us laugh, even when we are angry or sad, and we pay so much, with joy, to go and watch them during their shows, as well as to buy their comedy CDs.

Whiz-Kid, Davido, Victor AD, Tiwa Savage, Teni, Niniola, Don Jazzy, and the rest of other musicians, thrill us with their gifts of singing and dancing, and for that reason, we pay happily to watch them perform on stage and to buy their music CDs.

Prophet T.B Joshua, Prophet Julius Ekwuozor, Pastor E.A. Adeboye, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, Pastor W.F Kumuyi, Pastor D.K. Olukoya, among other men of God, have different spiritual gifts which attract us to them and convince us to sow seeds in their lives, and so on and so forth.

My own solutions to other people’s problems are the gifts of teaching, talking, and writing. Other people pay me to talk to them about something, teach them something, and to write something for them. And at the end, they pay me for doing that.

It is these same gifts of talking, teaching and writing that gave me the opportunity and advantage to become a blogger. And today, I run two successful blogs, Naija Tips Blog and Relationships Love Sex. They are among my money-making platforms.

God gave all of us, at least, one solution to solve other people’s problems.  Meaning, you have at least one, and I have mine. What is yours?

If you’re yet to discover yours, please, ask God to help you do so. He’s always willing and ready to help you do that. When you finally discover it, other people will start coming to you with their problems that need your solution. And finally, you’ll start smiling to your bank.

See you at the top!
