Can Someone, Please, Tell Tinubu’s Dele Alake and Bayo Onanuga That Nigerians Are Not Fools

The 2023 Presidential election was held in Nigeria on Saturday, February 25, 2023.

When the results of that election were announced and the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Alhaji Ahmed Bola Tinubu, declared the winner, Nigerians; men and women, old and young, educated and non-educated, all cried foul and rejected the results.

They unanimously rejected the results because they felt that the election umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had been compromised.

While the majority of Nigerians are still angry over the results of the said election, especially on what they saw as rigging and daylight robbery, the duo of Dele Alake, the Adviser, Media and Communication, APC Presidential Campaign Council, and Bayo Onanuga, the Director of Media of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, have been going to the press to warn Nigerians against rejecting the controversial results.

According to them, rejecting the disputed results of the election might lead to chaos in the land.

The pertinent question that must be answered, at this juncture, by both men, is: If the declaration of Alhaji Tinubu, the perceived wrong winner of the election, did not cause chaos, how would the declaration of the true winner by the Election Tribunal, if that later turns out to be the case, cause chaos?

Rather, they should stop intimidating us and allow the Election Tribunals and the courts of our land to do the needful.
