Some of the greatest characteristics of good leaders are that they respect other people and tell the truth at all times to be able to remain credible.
Unfortunately, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, Nigeria’s Deputy Senator President and the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, lacks these very important qualities.
A very good incident that aptly illustrates this point is the tragic incident that transpired between him and Chief Great Ogboru, the former governorship candidate of his party, APC, and the current governorship flag bearer of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.
The incident which took place in 2019 saw Senator Omo-Agege lying profusely to Chief Great Ogboru.
This was what really happened.
Senator Omo-Agege lied to Chief Ogboru and told him that he would use his connection at the National Assembly to help him win the election and become the governor of Delta State in that year’s governorship election.
According to him, he would make that possible without the input of the people of Delta North and Delta South.
What an insult?
Is it possible for anybody from any of the three districts in Delta State to win an election without the input of the two other districts?
Not at all, my dear brothers and sisters of Delta State.
Senator Omo-Agege went further to lie to Chief Ogboru that he would make sure that Senator (Dr,) Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa, an Anioma indigene, who was about to complete his first term in office as the governor of the state would not go for a second term.
He told Chief Ogboru all these lies so that Chief Ogboru would help him win his election of that year back to the National Assembly, but at the end of it all, he abandoned Chief Ogboru and made him a laughing stock.
Dis one no be one of those carry-talk wey dey fly around.
It was part of the great revelation made by Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, the then-leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Delta State.
Olorogun Emerhor lamented so much about it that he almost cried.

Based on this attitude of Esau exhibited by Senator Omo-Agege, it is only a fool from Delta North and Delta South parts of Delta State, whom he humiliated just to gain favour, that would vote for him.
In short, if there’s any part of Delta State that should vote for Senator Omo-Agege on the March 18, 2023 governorship election in Delta State, it shouldn’t be the people of Delta North and Delta South, whom he disrespected just to deceive Chief Great Ogboru.
So, get ready to vote for Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Orohwedor Oborevwori, who is an embodiment of truth, credibility, relationship-building, humility, empowerment, authenticity, consistency, gratitude, learning agility, influence, empathy, courage, respect, and a role model, for the position of the governor of Delta State come next Saturday, March 18,2023.
