Governor Okowa's Re-election Success

Senator (Dr.) Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa, the governor of Delta State took off with his re-election campaign on Tuesday, January 4, 2019 in Oghara, the headquarters of Ethiope West Local Government Council. I was privileged and excited to be part of that movement.

From Oghara, we moved to Sapele, from Sapele to Warri, and from Warri to Ughelli. At the end of that first round of campaigns, we also visited the headquarters of other local government councils in the state.

Before the end of those campaign tours, which lasted for a little above one month, I told people who care to listen to me that Governor Okowa was most likely to be re-elected. I made that prediction based on the unprecedented support and love showed his excellency by the entire people of Delta State during his campaign tours round the three Senatorial Districts of the state.

A day before the election-proper, on March 8, 2019, to be precise, I wrote an article on this blog, entitled: 5 REASONS GOVERNOR OKOWA OF DELTA STATE IS SURE TO BE RE-ELECTED, where I gave reasons for my prediction of last January.

In less than 48 hours later, on March 9, 2019, the people of Delta State and other residents of Delta State went to the polls to elect the person they wanted to govern them between May 29, 2019 and May 29, 2023. In line with their expectation, the man after their hearts, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, the incumbent governor, carried the day for the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.

Since then, Deltans and other lovers of Delta have been celebrating that expected victory. Both the young and the old, men and women, boys and girls; all have been singing their songs of victory.

My own reason for celebrating with other Deltans and lovers of Delta State over this widely celebrated victory is not only because Governor Okowa was re-elected; after all I have been celebrating the victory long before the election of March 9, 2019 was held.

My major reason for celebrating this sweet victory is because God, in His infinite wisdom and mercy, did not allow the evil people of our land to thwart the wishes of the electorate in Delta State. Oluwa is really involved in the affairs of Delta and Deltans!

Oh, Jesus, to your name be the glory. I wish to use this medium, also, to thank and appreciate all the pro-PDP voters in Delta State and other stakeholders in the project called Delta State for ensuring and insisting that their votes counted. As they supported Governor Okowa’s re-election, may God never forget them in their days of need. Amen!
